Why Join Flying Monkey IRC?

We’re not trying to take on the big giants. You won’t find algorithms or a push to be the largest IRC network on the internet here – that’s never been the goal.

What we do want is a community. A place for people who miss the early internet, or who just want somewhere simple and peaceful to connect without the chaos of modern social media. That quieter side of the internet still exists, even if it’s less visible these days. Whether our community ends up large or small, we’d like to think we matter to someone.

We’ve also made it easy for retro computer enthusiasts to join in. Our Server Details page has connection info for both encrypted and plaintext protocols – we recommend the encrypted connection, but plaintext is there to support older operating systems that need it.
